To reach us in Bormio, Alta Valtellina, there are several travel options available.

By plane

If you arrive by plane, you can choose from several airports nearby. Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio are about 3 hours away by car, while Zurich airport in Switzerland is about 2 and a half hours away. During the winter season, a convenient direct transfer or taxi service is available, such as Alpiservice, which connects Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio airports to Bormio.



By train

If you prefer to travel by train, the main connection departs from Milan Centrale and arrives in Tirano in about 2 and a half hours. From Tirano, you can take a comfortable bus service to Bormio, a convenient and scenic transport across the valley. This service is particularly advantageous thanks to the "Io viaggio in Lombardia" (I travel in Lombardy) formula, which offers reduced fares on public transport in the region.

For those arriving from northern Europe, it is possible to take the train from St. Moritz and from there continue to Tirano on the Rhaetian Railway. From Tirano, regular Alta Valtellina buses will take you directly to Bormio, providing an efficient connection.



By car

If you prefer to explore by car, Bormio is easily accessible via scenic roads all year round. From Milan, follow the highway 36 to Colico and then the Stelvio state road 38 through Sondrio to Bormio. If you are coming from Trentino or Switzerland, you can cross the Stelvio Pass or other summer scenic roads connecting Bormio with neighbouring regions. Before leaving, it is advisable to always check the opening times of the Alpine passes, such as the Passo dello Stelvio and the Passo Gavia.
